The University Library campus is seeking to hire a Library Technical Assistant on a full-time basis at our Clarkston campus.
The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:
Assist in the daily operation of library's primary service point including serving as primary coverage Provide leadership and expertise to other library staff on circulation service and desk operations, including procedures, circulation policies/workflow, patron disputes/feedback and using Alma Serve as back-up for specialized responsibilities of other full-time circulation staff Complete basic circulation functions such as charging, discharging, and renewing library materials on Alma platform Perform regular walk-throughs throughout shift to periodically assess and address library operation issues including supply replenishment, noise, trash, patron behavior/disruption, facilities, study room occupancy, technology Serves as senior full-time circulation employee and functions as on-site expert and reference point for all major circulation functions, as well as primary onboarding for new employees Provide support to Technical Services with special projects including cancellations, updating holdings information (item types, item locations, and/or item policies) Hire, supervise and train student workers

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and three years of library, customer service, or office experience.

Qualifications:
Prefer recent experience in a college or university library.
Familiarity with the use of computers in an office setting.
Knowledge of library circulation processes in an automated environment.
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy and thoroughness.
