Medical Laboratory Technology- FT Faculty

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans and teaches classroom instruction for credit courses in the Division of Allied Health.
Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities and may involve Internet courses.
The instructor will be responsible with assisting the maintenance of program accreditation and may direct activities of part time instructors.
Duties include advising and mentoring students; textbook selection; updating curriculum; and developing instructional materials.
The instructor must possess the ability to teach all phases of the Medical Lab Technology and Phlebotomy curricula.
The successful candidate may also be required to teach other Health related courses, and will report to the Health, Education and Professional Services.
To meet the needs of our students, the instructor may be required to teach courses during the day, evening, and weekend hours.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from a national or regionally accredited college or university.
Must have current and valid ASCP-BOC U.
S.
generalist certification and CPR certification (or certified within first ninety days of employment).
These credentials are required and must be maintained during employment.
The candidate must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the Medical Laboratory profession including the relationship to other professions in the medical field.
Three or more years, within the last seven of full-time, in-field work experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or closely related healthcare position.
Experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels the instructor will be expected to teach.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communications and people skills.

Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or higher from a national or regionally accredited college or university.
BLS Instructor certified (or certified within first ninety days of employment).
Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad, diverse backgrounds is desired.
Knowledge of Blackboard is desirable.
Must have teaching experience in postsecondary and/or technical college education.
All credentials must be provided for copying at the time of interview.

Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License; maintain automobile insurance coverage; and have access to an automobile due to possible travel to other campuses.
Physical Demand:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate instructional equipment and computers.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance, close, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions.
The employee will be required to drive to various instructional internship facilities.
The employee will work in a variety of medical environments based on clinical assignments.
This position performs tasks which may involve occasional exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
